Choosing Green?
Choose The Shed Shop... the "Greenest" sheds in the Bay Area.

  • "Arauco" 3/4 inch Plywood Floor
Our plywood flooring is produced using wood supplied by ISO 14001 certified plantations. This certification guarantees that all forestry operations are carried out in an environmentally responsible manner and are certified under the PEFC endorsed CERTFOR standard.
  • Collins TruWood Horizontal Siding
Collins was the first major timber company to grow certified lumber and wood products, and implement sustainable practices into its manufacturing plants. The FSC logo is a guarantee that the wood comes from forestlands that are managed in a manner that is environmentally responsible.
  • Louisana Pacific "SmartSide" Siding
LP SmartSide products start with sustainably harvested premium hardwoods, which are then engineered with the non-toxic SmartGuard process. LP SmartSide factories are driven by energy provided by waste wood unfit for use in its products.
  • Radiant Barrier Roof Sheathing
All Shed Shop sheds feature LP Techshield roof decking, which blocks up to 97% of the radiant heat in the panel from entering your attic area, which keeps your shed cooler.
  • Wood waste is recycled
At the end of our manufacturing process, all wood waste is separated and sent for recycling.
  • Low-E Glass Double-Pane Jeld-Wen Windows
As of September 1, 2009, we will feature high-performance double-pane Low-E insulating glass windows manufactured by Jeld-Wen in all our buildings. These windows lower energy use, help sheds stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, help prevent fading of interior furnishings, and reduces condensation. They also delivers greater light transmittance compared to tinted glass.

"Green" Features of our Studio Models

  • Title 24 Low-Energy Requirements
Our Studio model meets California's stringent Title 24 efficiency standards for residential buildings.
  • Zero VOC Interior Paint
Studio interiors are painted with Kelly Moore "Green Coat" Zero VOC paint.

In warm weather, Low-E glass reflects the sun's energy and prevents it from entering the building.

In cold weather, Low-E glass reduces the amount of heat lost by reflecting it back inside.
